Secret of good living

aayuhkamayamanen dharmarthsukhasadhanam.

Ayurveda is for all those who desire longevity – to attain their desires, goals and vision. It is a sub-branch of Atharva veda and was brought by Lord Dhanvantari.

The main aim of Ayurveda is to preserve the health of the healthy people and treat the diseased people.

Three elements of governance & destruction

Ayurveda states the presence of three elements in our body – namely Vata, Pitta and Kapha which are responsible for the proper functioning and maintenance of all the metabolisms of the body. If these elements get vitiated then they create disturbances in the normal functioning of the body leading to diseases and ill health.

Vata

The element which is responsible for movement and sensations in the body (e.g. In nerves, skin etc)

Pitta

Responsible for transformations and metabolisms in the body (e.g. In Stomach, liver etc)

Kapha

Responsible for the stability and structure in the body (e.g. In joints, bones etc)

All the three doshas have their role in body metabolisms – in digestion of food, in breathing exchanges, in sleeping and waking up and so. Thus, it is of prime importance that these doshas remain in their natural state to maintain good health of the individual.

Nature’s care in loving way

We, at IMIS Ayurveda, believe that the best way to heal is naturally. And thus, we use pure and natural ingredients to make herbal products which improve health and help to treat illness. Each of the ingredient is cultivated in optimum temperature with premium soil and favorable environment to avail the best medicinal benefits. This results in gaining high potential herbs which in turn increase the efficiency of herbal medicines. Every ingredient is power packed with its nutrients and properties and when these come together in a formulation, they provide profound results to the consumer. Optimum medicines are an important tool for achieving good, faster results.

Unearthing the origin of Ayurveda

Ayurveda has a history of its own. A science of more than 5000 years old has many tales of history.

Ayurveda is an ancient science with no beginning or end (Anadi, Ananta). It is an eternal science which has always been present, like sound and air. Lord Brahma remembered the science of Ayurveda though his consciousness and passed on the knowledge to Prajapati Daksha, who in turn passed it on to Ashwini Kumaras. They taught this divine knowledge to Lord Indra who passed it to the sons of Sage Atreya Punarvasu. These sage taught Ayurveda to Agnivesha and other disciples who wrote different texts of Ayurveda as we obtain today.

There is also another tale that during the war between Gods and Asuras, the ocean was being churned and out of the many entities there, Lord Dhanvantari came with a bowl of nectar (Amrutha) in one hand and divine herbs in another hand. He is popularly known as the God of Ayurveda.

How does Ayurveda work?

Ayurvedic medicines utilize the power of herbs to treat the disruptions in our body mechanisms. The different forms of these formulations, like tablets, kashayam, ghritas, churnas have different effects on the human body. When body needs nourishment, then Rasayanas, Dhatuvridhi tablets are used. Medicines like Haritaki churna/tablet help to clear the digestive tract. When mind gets agitated and needs to be calmed down, herbs like Brahmi, Shankhapushpi come into play. Thus, based on the properties of the herbs, they help to regularize the body and treat the diseased person.

Ayurveda does not only cure but also emphasizes on prevention of diseases in a healthy individual. The use of combination of herbs which boost the immunity, like Chyavanprash etc help in achieving this goal.
